Your church thinks gay marriage is wrong? Fine. Gay people won’t get married in your church. But my church DOES recognize gay marriage. Gay people DO get married in my church. But the government says it doesn’t count. Only your church’s marriage counts. By outlawing gay marriage, you are saying that a marriage in my church is less legitimate than one in yours. How is that NOT discrimination? I have yet to hear an answer to this question.
